Getting rid of the 3 banner ad on your phone

My new phone had a scrolling ad banner at the bottom of its screen. This annoyed me. I’ve just worked out how to get rid of it! Huzzah.

I’ll find out how Tom achieved this…

It’s hidden away in:

Menu > Settings > Display > Standby Mode Settings > Instant Viewer > Instant Viewer Service > Off

Thank god it’s off now! It was driving me nuts.

Thanks for that! The S.E. K800i has it in Settings > General > Instant Viewer.

If your talking about the k800i its actually in: display>general>instant viewer>off

warning do not update your sonyericsson k800i from the sony website. it enables the instant viewer and does not put a dissabler in the new menu. i am now stuck with it !!!!!!!!!

i’ve disabled the banner on my n73 but it also disables the shortcut menu’s at the top of the screen which are quite handy.. ridiculous!

stuck with it too bastards, ok someone knows how to sort this out after the update surely???

Thank you very much for that. That constant banner was really annoying me and now I can see the time. Sorry cannot help with update correction.
