SMS reporting used to combat youth crime

Link: IOL: SMS system to involve youth in crime fight.

A new SMS-based system to fight crime, which hopes to involve the youth, will be launched in Chatsworth later this month.

The initiative works as an alternative to the 10111 phone service and operates via text messaging from cellphones linked to a computer system.

The toll-free line will receive messages 24 hours a day, making it easier for crime to be reported.

One Response to “SMS reporting used to combat youth crime”

  • I would like to know how to report a crime via the internet. Can you please give me an email address or a website I can go to to report a crime. It has to do with violence against a woman who is my dear friend and also has to do with drug abuse. Please respond asap, I am afraid that my friend might be killed due to the violence and hurt she is experiencing. Thank you
