After my spasm this morning getting Tex2me setup, I am up and running.
I did my best to do a close-up picture using my poncy Apple iSight. (Like a million other Apple users, I have to find some sort of use for it).
Tex2me.com is fast. Very fast. I didn’t expect it to operate so quickly. I had a welcome message from ‘J J’ so I whacked back a reply — but other than that, I was alone on the service. At 11pm at night I wasn’t going to go inviting people — I’ll do that tomorrow. But I wanted to check out how it worked so I happened upon a plan: text myself with it!
I sent a message to Ewan MacLeod and waited. That is, until I realised it had already arrived — the moment I sent it as you see above. Smart.
Here’s what it looks like when you open a message. The branding you see there — the blue background — that’s the Sony Ericsson default stuff.
There’s a couple of options on this screen. I can go back to my inbox or click ‘more’ to get reply/delete options.
So it’s totally free. Interesting stuff. I’m going to invite some people tomorrow and check it out some more.
Meantime, if you’ve a few moments, go ahead and download it (www.tex2me.com) and send me a message. Just address it to Ewan MacLeod.
