MyBlogLog is rather wicked. I’ve been using it for 2 days now and it’s shown me that, today, four people have clicked this link to visit the Motorola software support site for the SLVR.
I included the link here in March time when I was fiddling with the SLVR trying to get it to sync with my Apple. When I visited the Motorola site to see if there was any new software available for the SLVR I was greeted with the above ‘COMING SOON’ graphic.
I think it was Russell Buckley who recently commented that software companies need to get a grip. I think it was him. He was talking about the fact that Skype are frequently releasing updates and improvements every quarter (at least) whilst GoogleTalk and MSN (for example) are on what looks like annual update paths. It’s just not good enough, I don’t think.
I don’t want to think that my SLVR is actually a defunct piece of shit that Motorola have moved on from years ago. I’d like to see more stuff to add to it. At the very LEAST I’d like to see an operating system update or some funky little toy I could download to the phone. Leaving the page reading ‘Update Coming Soon’ just disheartens me – AND the four other people who’ve visited it from this blog today.
Thanks for using (and flattering) MyBlogLog. We’re pushing it farther — we’re starting to offer user profiles on your readers if you want them. Check out the “Recent Readers” widget in the right hand column of http://mybloglogb.typepad.com/. We’ve got just a few of those running right now, but we’ll open it up for everyone who wants one in a few weeks.
Click on the white “You!” box at the top. Since you are a MyBlogLog user already, your current password will work on the registration page. Sign in and search for “SMS” in the search box at the top right. You’ll find SMS Text News in the results and a link to your community page. I just joined your community as a member. Please let us know if you think we are going in the right direction.
Thanks!
