Using ShoZu regularly

So now that my brother appears to have forgotten that I’m using his N90 pride and joy on a regular basis, I’ve had more of an opportunity to check out ShoZu.

At first I wasn’t quite sure what was happening … I took a picture, then immediately a dialog box would appear with two options:

- Save to Flickr (save, or send.. I can’t recall)
- More options

Where did this come, I thought? I was used to the original N90 system *without* the ShoZu option you see.

Once I realised it was there to help and actually a ShoZu feature.. well, there’s been no stopping me. It wasn’t quite as nicely implemented on the Sony Ericsson you see. On the Nokia interface, ShoZu is absolutely gorgeous.

Here’s what you do:

1. Take a photo.
2. A second later, you get those options. I click ’send to flickr’

And you’re done.

FANTASTIC.

I get back home and there are all the pictures right there on Flickr. I couldn’t be bothered to enter the tags & descriptions on the pictures on the handset as I was in a hurry. Had I been sat on my own in Pizza Express waiting for some doughballs, I’d have definitely gone through and done so.

So this is precisely what I want from the ShoZu service. Excellent work! If you haven’t tried it, check it out at www.shozu.com.

And thanks to ShoZu and Flickr, here a snap of the scene that greeted me earlier this afternoon trying to get into the car. I did not look graceful getting in, I can tell you.

  • There is another service that provides social photos and videos off mobile devices. It has cool features that include instant uploads, phone to phone video and photo sharing.
