Local radio stations could well feel the pressure from new mobile traffic congestion services

I found this refreshing insight from Ross just now — I hadn’t considered the follow-on impact of new traffic congestions services such as Google’s new additions.

Traffic information is one of the main reasons that people listen to local radio. Once you can get far superior traffic information from other sources, you might as well go to the radio that gives you your preferred music or talk, which is unlikely to be local radio.
