I was taking a break from the computer as I need to do more often. It’s not healthy sitting glaring at the screens all day.

So I thought I’d give Three a call and see if I qualify for an upgrade. I couldn’t remember the month when the contract is up. I whacked in ‘333′ on the handset and within a few moments I was chatting to someone in India. They’re generally incredibly courteous and this lady was no exception. She explained that my upgrade day is 13th October.

Arse.

I was thinking very seriously about upgrading the account to a Nokia E61. Why? Well I hardly use it… it’s one of those ponce purchases. While I was waiting to find out the cost of the early upgrade, I checked out the Three site — the K800i with its 3 megapixel camera was calling to me. So, when the lady explained that it was going to cost £100 quid for the E61 if I wanted an upgrade there and then, I thanked her and hung up.

Decisions, decisions.

… ok she’s checking the price of an 8700 Blackberry….

I’m seeing far too many of them around and it’s not working well for my MobileEGO(tm). Pumped by my N90, I feel that the admirable effect is someone negated when your eyes glide from it to the old, tattered 7000 series Blackberry by its side. Still works ok. Battery is a bit used though — it generally lasted for about a week and now it’s down to a day or so. Not surprising though, the amount of cash going through it.

Well it turns out I can’t get a new device for another 6 months. Arse.
