RoDIN24 anonymously monitors cell phones in an area to report traffic conditions

RoDIN24 enables the provision of high quality real-time road traffic information by anonymously monitoring all of the active subscribers in a mobile network.

I’d really like to see this in use — I wonder if it could be used to monitor crowds in and around football games, demonstrations and the like as well?
