Qtags sign Red Robin restaurants

Had a note in from Shannon letting me know that Qtags have signed Red Robin restaurants. (The burger customiser looks fantastic.  I need to get some lunch).

Red Robin restaurants is the first company to launch a qtags/Brandmovers-powered promotion, which will begin in the Houston-area late August.  Red Robin servers will wear buttons encouraging patrons to text qtags for special offers.

I was in Caffe Uno the other day having a meal.  I looked on their table and spied a customer comment card.  I left a positive comment.  With a pen.  With a PEN, man!

The only time I use pens are when I need to sign a bill or receive a package.

Anyway I filled in this card and even checked the box asking them to send me out a discount card.

Why isn’t this all text based?  I, like EVERY other diner in the place, had my phone sat in front of me.  So Kudos to Qtags and Red Robin for text enabling their marketing.

  1. TGI Friday’s bill says: “Go to http://www.fridaysvisit.co.uk within 48hrs, tell us about your visit and receive a BUY ONE MAIN COURSE GET ONE FREE OFFER”.

Despite visiting this place a couple of times in the past month I’ve never visited the site because I always shove the bill in my wallet and forget about it. If the bill had told me to “Text TGI followed by your feedback to 8XXXX to receive a BUY ONE MAIN COURSE GET ONE FREE voucher on your phone!” I’d have done it there and then at the table (like in that time between paying the bill and waiting for other people in your dining party to go to the toilet!).

By making me write my SMS voucher code on my last receipt they can still track my feedback to my name (and any other details they ask for) when I redeem the voucher.

  2. Went to TGI Fridays tonite with my daughter and had a lovely meal. Will definately go again and in fact my daughter would like to go for her birthday!

  5. Blimey, this blog entry seems to have turned into a praise TGI Fridays thread. Or is that intentional?

You don’t want to know what happened last time I went to a TGI’s. Seriously, you don’t. 🙂

  9. I eat regularly at the Fridays in Darien on 75th Street. It is always an enjoyable visit. With a well trained staff and pleasant people.I have limited lunch time and the personnel who work the bar side are efficient and knowledgeable. The greeters are always ready to assist when needed. Thanks for the opportunity to express my complete satisfaction with this facility.

  10. came to TGI’s at Bluewater tonight, it was a disaster from start to finish. Long waits, no napkins, no cutlery, parts of each meal missing, one meal was cold and had to be sent back. The Fridays Shrimps were overcooked and rubbery, normally they are delicious. To top it all the lovely waitress dropped a glass of coke which went flying across the table on top of us, she did apologise and this was an accident and really was not a problem – I would not have mentioned this if the meal had been fine.

Disappointed as normally visits to TGI are a real occasion.

  13. Had a really good meal at Fridays, Sutton Coldfield although the chicken nachos needed larger pieces of chicken and not just tiny squares in amongst the cheese

  14. Tried TGIF for the second time at this new location. On the second visit all was good and TGIF will get me to come again. Thanks for a good meal.

  15. Had my son’s wedding rhearsal dinner at Fridays and they treated us great. Even when we were planning to have it there. They help with loads of info.

  16. Went to TGIs in Southampton and had meal with my 17 year old son. Sesame seed chicken starter was great and Jack Daniels’ salmon. He had bacon/cheese burger and loved it. It is great to go to a place where different ages can enjoy the same thing. Our server, Greg, was so friendly and fun. We also loved the retro stuff on the wall – A-Team, Batman and Robin, Star Wars’ ship and even The Lone Ranger and Tonto!
