Are you still at Corney & Barrow? Buymeadrink.co.uk!
Yes, I am. Ok, so about 24 hours have passed — almost to the hour — since I was last sat in the corner of Corney & Barrow on Paternoster Square. I’m back again. It’s a really convenient location and the free wifi helps. (Remember to boycott Starbucks because of their 75p a minute wifi)

My motivation for this particular blog is Dan Lane of Blackfin.co.uk — he whacked out a mail to me yesterday saying ‘Are you still in Corney & Barrow? If so, take a look at this!’
He then linked me to Buymeadrink.co.uk. It looks to be a Corney and Barrow dedicated site. If you’re motivated to send me a cocktail, for example, you simply pay £9.95 (for the Classic Champagne Cocktail) online and then type in my mobile number.
The Corney & Barrow system then sends me a voucher by SMS which I redeem at the bar. Neat! Very useful if someone’s having a party or a get together at a Corney & Barrow bar and you can’t be there.
Alas — and as Dan pointed out — there is no facility to send me a coke. Anything stronger and I’ll be on the blog writing even more gibberish than usual. There’s no facility to send some of their rosemary and marmalade cocktail sausages either.
Still, you can send people cocktails, beers, white wine, red wine, champagne and spirits.
Anyone used it?

what an idea!!
what about if people could simply pay for their beers by sending text messages in all pubs? in student bars for example? probably ethically tricky, but the service provider would clean up!
interesting post!!
