Link: Broadtexter - Text Alerts for MySpace Bands - Mashable!.
Check out this rather wicked review of Broadtexter on Mashable:
NYC-based Broadtexter is a new service that allows musicians to send text alerts to fans using a module for MySpace. Artists and bands sign up with the service, then post the flash widget on MySpace, their own website or one of the hundreds of social networks that support Flash embeds (Friendster, Piczo, hi5, Blogger etc). The module allows fans to enter their name, mobile phone number, carrier and region and receive text alerts at standard rates. What’s more, the modules are customizable: artists can create their own color combinations to blend in with their site. Bands can send alerts via a phone or the web, and the service costs $14.50/month - less if you pay yearly. There’s also a 30-day free trial.
