CSTIS celebrate 20 years of service
.. by releasing what could be possibly the worlds most wasteful PDF.
So comments ‘A’ in a recent email. (A is a leading industry player so I have kept the identity anonymous.)
‘A’ continues:
15.62 megabytes of data for a whole 17 pages. That’s give or take about a meg a page. Or to put it another way, about £45 to download on your mobile at £3/meg.
It’s at http://www.icstis.org.uk/pdfs_news/20anniversary.pdf if anyone on SMS Text News fancies a read (and a few cups of coffee while you’re waiting for it to download)
There’s some irony in there somewhere - and possibly a joke - that the regulator that battles so hard on the side of the consumer to stop shockingly high mobile bills being racked up via premium SMS are
inviting you to get a shockingly high mobile bill by downloading their 17 page anniversary publication.Oh the fun of this industry..

I don’t get it. Who would download a pdf on a mobile?

What the heck has this got to do with downloadong to a mobile? Unless you’ve woefully taking the clipping totally out of context, it just doesn’t make any sense, nor does the fact you’ve even featured it!
If you go to the ICSTIS website they even offer to send a hard copy to anyone who doesn’t want to read or download the PDF.
‘A’ and yourself have mobile fever..
Lol
