I had a note in from James at SkyBoxSMS letting me know about their hot rocking new service for spectators at sports and entertainment venues.  Using their service, you can order tickets, sell unused tickets and order concessions.  YUM! 

The service focus appears to be on delivering entertainment whilst in your seat (i.e. texting messages to the big screens) together with enabling customers to manage their event ticket & car parking arrangements.

The car parking service is particularly neat.  You can pre-book and pre-pay for a car parking space up to 2 hours before the game/event.  I would use this a lot to avoid the hassle of messing around with thousands of cars hunting for a space.

They’ve recently signed the Chicago Rockstars of the American Basketball Association.  It’s not just the in-venue experience though - SkyBoxSMS are giving the ability for venues/teams to be able to conduct high quality mobile marketing relationships with their customers wherever they are.

SkyBoxSMS is live in 8 stadiums already - Allstate Arena, Yankee Stadium, United Center, Wrigley Field, US Cellular Field, Monster Field and two racetracks. 

I like it!  It’s good to see innovation and in particular, simple straight forward ‘one-stop’ services for the sports and entertainment industries to easily implement.
