Building your own LifeCam with a Nokia, Timed Spy, ShoZu and Flickr

Alex caught this on TV last night. I was watching Spooks
So Jason decided to do his bit to expose himself, so to speak, and build the world’s very first Life Cam.
The concept of Life Cam is to create a device capable of taking an image every 30 seconds. That’s 2880 photos a day, or over 20 thousand a week. And more importantly Jason wants to create a device that will take the picture and upload it to the internet so you can watch his life happening in real time.
Very cool. On Channel 5 no less!
Alex summarises thus:
Jason was taking pics every 30 seconds using a Symbian app called ‘Timed Spy’, then using ShoZu to automatically upload it to Flickr.
They also recommended T-Mobile’s ‘Web ‘n’Walk’ tariff to do all the uploading, and had a thing called a Juice Bag - which was in essence a solar panel-covered rucksack - to stop his phone running out of juice on the go.OK so not technically SMS related, but nice to see all this stuff covered on mainstream media.
Very cool indeed.
