Nice one Dominos — text message offers a 10% discount
This is smart marketing. I’d definitely order today. That’s if my local Dominos delivered to my place. Alas I’m a mile or so out of range…
…but I’m working in London so I could…
… gosh! Forgot I’m working in London so I could definitely use that offer this evening.
I won’t though. I’m a healthy chap when I’m not eating Domintator Mighty Meaty pizzas.
I like the marketing. The text message gets to the point right away. Simple code to enter, plus there’s an opt-out should I, for some strange reason, not want to receive any more special offers.
Top work. It’s not often I witness proper mobile marketing integrated into the wider marketing mix.

Now why couldn’t they comply with MMA’s advertising guidelines and have STOP as the opt-out code, rather than NO?

Posted by ewan on November 6th, 2006 at 3:50 pm.[...] Ewan at SMS Text News just posted about receiving a useful text message coupon from Domino’s Pizza. They were offering 10% off if you order online and enter the code in the text message. It’s great to see the big boys using mobile marketing as it should be used. They even include a quick reply to stop receiving text messages from them. [...]
Posted by Mobivity » Blog Archive » Hey Dominos, How about letting us order via text message also? on November 6th, 2006 at 3:53 pm... and put FREEMSG at the beginning to indicate that it’s a free to user message as it’s coming from a shortcode?
Haven’t had a Domino’s for ages, this would be enough to persuade me - although I’ll never forget the time they managed to substitute a family members order - garlic and herb dip instead of the icing dip you get with the sticky dippers. Wouldn’t be so bad hadn’t the bloke at the end of the phone not quite understood what the problem was when my relative phoned to complain!
