Pat LaMarche first US Politician to use American Idol real-time polling of audience by text

Today she harnessed the power of the mobile medium once again. At today’s debate at the University of Maine, Pat asked the audience and TV viewers to use their cell phones to vote for who they think won the debate. To do so, all viewers needed to do was text PAT to 30644.
A “ballot” will then be sent by return text. You click your choice, send it, and the tallying will be done automatically.
This is the first time an instantaneous poll has been taken using “American Idol†style voting techniques in a political campaign.
