Vodafone network outage this morning?
Got this sent in this morning…
I called Voda and as soon as I got “we are experiencing high call volumes” at 8:30am I knew there was a problem…..they have a major network outage!!!!! oops…
Deary me. Did anyone else experience this?


Yep, thought it was just me - I’ve just switched to Vodafone as there was a coverage blackspot at my work with Orange, only to have a bit of a panic this morning!
Why don’t they have coverage updates on their website - I tried calling this morning, got cut off and finally found this online…
Anyway, short answer is yes coverage is non-existent around Aldershot
Posted by Alison on December 1st, 2006 at 2:53 pm.why should they put a simple message on their website apologising and saying the service is down when they can force us all to call them up, wait 10 minutes in a queue, go through the “press 1 for this, 2 for that…” saga and then eventually speak to a call-centre that is clearly under-resourced during outage times. that would just make no sense at all

Posted by steve procter on December 1st, 2006 at 3:23 pm.Thats not what our internal communication said. Apparently their HLR (home location registers) went down, and i mean more than one. This was due to a release of new code which went wrong. They later said that they were in “Regressive testing”
Posted by David Brice on December 1st, 2006 at 4:02 pm.The new HLR release was blamed for the PSMS overcharging to prepay users too. Guess it’s not a good day to be on the HLR upgrade project team..
