The first thing, obviously, is check you’re ok and in once piece.
The second thing to do is to get out your E70, snap a series of pics, and get the message out to the world via Flickr. Kudos!
The picture you see here contains a car showing an Ed-shaped dent. SMS Text News reader Ed, riding a shocking red motorbike, was ‘T-boned’ (motorcycle speak for ’someone-hit-him’) at a junction this evening.
I’m pleased to report that
a) he is ok (bit shaken, no critical damage)
and
b) was thinking carefully about the mobile industry and the value of live moblogging during the experience.
Recover swiftly Mr Hodges!

Yeah, thanks Ewan. Also took a video of the crash scene and uploaded to Youtube. You can still see the glass and my beautiful motorbikes body work on the floor.
The guy ran the red lights coming over the bridge and across into Chelsea. I had 4 guys and an off duty policeman all give witness accounts of him accelerating to beat the amber (which he didn’t) and taking out my bike. I must admit that i don’t know how my right leg wasn’t crushed when he hit me but i’ll count my blessings.
Funnily enough, taking photos was the first thing i thought and sending them to Flickr meant there’d be no confusion (if needed in court) about when and where it occured.
Am a bit bruised today but will be taking the bike in for repairs this afternoon…

A quick update…
The bike is a write off! Turns out he hit it hard enough to split the frame which holds the wheels and engine together. Bugger.
However, even more annoyingly, when i was dumped on the floor, i fell on my blackberry and have broken it… aargghh, cold turkey… hurts much more than the bike
