BANGitUP.com — find and hire a plumber, by text, in 2.7 minutes

BANGitUP.com announced today it had passed its 17,000th online trade request with the average time to find a trades person anywhere in the country dropping to an amazing 3 minutes.

Statistics showed that the average time to find any tradesmen across the country was 2.7 minutes but interestingly plumbers were generally faster at 2.5 minutes than electricians 2.8 minutes and builders at 3.1 minutes.

Scott Maxworthy, CEO of BANGitUP.com said “You have to love your plumber, he has the great job of cleaning up the stuff most of us are just to scared to even think about - how they can reply to an SMS that quickly with their hand half way up a pipe is beyond me, I suppose it’s the fact that through BANGitUP’s Trade Select Service only relevant leads are sent to their phones and if they’re interested they can SMS reply instantly with just a “Y” or ring our call centre on 1300 796 279″.

Heh, I love it. Very efficient. Very smart. It’s just the 3am call out charge that can get a little bit annoying ;-)

  • Ewan,

This makes me think of the directory services market which is ripe for some destruction/disruption. Now if you introduce availability presence [and his rating from previous customers - ebay style] you now have a directory service where people can/will only call the tradesman that is available with a high rating [unless they want to wait for the person/company they have already dealt with previously].

Seems like nice work by the guys/gals who put this together but its target should be more broader directory enquiries and companies such as Yell and Eniro who should really be putting effort in this field, but will they?……………………………

NAH, the returns for advertising in paper books is such a solid business model they do not need to think of such customer convenience/satisfaction and expanding a business based on the work of Johannes Gutenberg. Why bother change a business that is based on 560 year old technology, we do not need such disruption.
