DWT — Driving While Texting — isn’t exactly a DUI, but it’ll still be a mean fine if the Arizona State Legislature passes a bill banning text messaging while driving.
Rep. Steve Farley, D-Tucson, introduced the bill Jan. 16, which would make text messaging while driving a secondary offense.
Police wouldn’t pull people over just for text messaging, but if they were stopped for another reason, the texting could be used against them, Farley said.
