Zyb steaming on ahead with 70,000+ users

Picture 6

ZYB, the company that brings mobile data to life, continues its evolution of the mobile community by reaching the milestone of 70,000 users to begin 2007. In just six months since launching in June 2006, the company’s user base has risen from zero users to 70,000 users using the free online mobile data backup service to “ZYB their mobile” and safeguard valuable mobile data.

Just got the above news in from Zyb. That’s super news for them.

I firmly believe there is a massive pent up demand for this kind of service — it’s just educating normobs (normal mobile users) about the possibilities — the fact that you *can* effortlessly backup your mobile data.

Speaking of which, have you recently Zybbed? Back up your address books!

  • I have just tried ZYB and they didn’t have my handset. My friend told me about another site called Mobyko who have just launched in the UK. They have 150 compatible phones and I set up my phone in minutes. As well as backing up your mobile contacts online, you can store your texts, videos and pictures. Best of all it’s free and easy to use. Check it out!

  • I also tried Zyb and it didnt work, i also tried mobyko but the regisrtation was lengthy, this service was also a familiar service run by phonesync. The site i most liked was mymobilenumbers.com. I sent a text message and within minutes i had an account and syncd all my addressbook, no registration, no fuss and i can also send text messages online to my friends with their easy to use text message sending tool.

  • Jeff, that has to be one of the most awful-looking sites in history!

And Zyb and Mobyko are both free yet your site charges:
“REGISTRATION COSTS £1.50 (PLUS YOUR STANDARD SMS COST) AND £1.50 A MONTH THEREAFTER.”

    1/10 for spamming…

  • Mobyko was the first one that i had heard about and i also found the registration lengthy. To be honest i didn’t go back and use it. I stumbled across ZYB by accident - it’s much easier to use. I’d like to be able to personalise my page - even put it into my myspace page but i guess it’s still young and in the making. Can’t fault the service tho - and all my work colleagues now know about it as we all have two phones to back up (work ones and personal ones). Can’t believe it has taken so long for a service like this to get up and running. But thankful it has as i often forget my phone at home - now it doesn’t matter. 10/10 from me.
