It’s relating to the widespread practice of American coaches constantly bombarding young athletes with ‘come to my college’ style text messages all day. It’s a little weird to consider for me, sat here in London, with little comprehension about what’s driving the coaches to continually text.

The manner in which coaches can contact high-school kids they want to play for them in college is pretty highly regulated (ie a limited number of visits and calls, during specific times). However, the rules don’t explicitly mention SMS, so many coaches use it all the time.
