Today only……. I’m possibly turning Vodafone

Link: SMS Text News » Help: I think I’m turning Vodafone

Don’t put up with it. Connectivity should be the one given that they all have in common. To think it may be a differentiator all these years in, well it just leaves me shocked.
come to voda,…come on Ewan, come to the daddy of networks, you know you want to….

I’m going to take some time and go into a Vodafone store today. On the provisio that I can work out an equitable deal, I may well swap to the dark side….

  • it’s the light side…

You’ll be on the BMW of networks rather than the Lada.

  • - I’ve been waiting for you, Obi-eWan. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I met you I was but the learner. Now, *I* am the master..

    - Only a master of Vodafone, Arun.

(I need to get out more)

  • Me too, I was reading that in a ObiWan/Darth Vader accent…

  • by the way, i’m upgrading/side grading to the Nokia 6300. It’s not the most exciting phone in the world, but it’s tiny, and good jean pocket size. I’m also fed up of non candy bar designs.

The Force is strong with this one.

haha.. Note to self - use more star wars banter.

  • Ewan - why not 3?

If 3G is your bag, go with 3. It didn’t win best network in 2006 (or 5?) for nothing. As for the types who don’t like a helpdesk based in Mumbai…hmmm…I have had horrific customer experiences from people with determinedly English accents…

Forget the startup hassles of 2003. Trying to cover the UK with less than 5,000 sites is not good - performance falls off exponentially as you drop just a small number of sites off the optimum. 3 has over 7,000 now, and the next-best isn’t even close. Why else would VF be partnering with others to progress 3G rollout? Maybe there is real truth into their not seeing 3G as a priority. How does that bode for 3G service quality and future innovation?

Having used VF for a year and Three for a year, I’m convinced Three is the better deal. That said, my wife has a VF mobile - purely as backup for coverage holes where 3 or Orange aren’t (less than 1% at last count). Haven’t needed it in the last year, but you never know and with small kids it’s peace of mind.

Maybe VF passport works for you in places where 3 don’t have a network - France, Germany, Spain spring to mind. But if you go to 3 countries often, the roam like home zero charge regime will save you a fortune in both voice and data.

Horses for courses eh? But let’s stick to current facts/perfomance, not history.

    Cheers,

    Mike

  • Hmmm that’s a really interesting question.

    I’m already a Three customer. I think I’ve always used them second, T-Mobile first….

    I wonder. I wonder……… perhaps that’s the way ahead….
