Watta Classifieds, Thailand, turns to mobile to power classified listings
Link: Bangkok Post : Your money
In the second quarter of this year, the company will make video-clip advertisements available on mobile phones through WAP (wireless application protocol). ”I believe this will enable the advertisers to sell their properties (houses and cars) even easier and quicker.”
Currently, Watta Classified handles an average of 4,500 incoming calls, SMS and MMS asking to advertise per day, and about 3,000 requests for downloads, mostly for job openings.
Mobile’s an ideal mechanism for transmitting (and receiving) classifieds into a central hub or service, just because so many handsets are now coming with fairly decent cameras — and the networks are taking care of the billing elements. Looks like Watta are moving to capitalise on this.
More on Watta here.

I am building a web based service for Thailand and an interested in SMS messaging to advertise this site once launched.
Please advise the ad rates for SMS messaging to mobile phones. I am interested in a 12 month contract. My target customer is women between 19 and 50.
Thank you.
