Facebook doesn’t recognise anything but America
Come on, Facebook, get with it.
I’m trying to verify my account, right? It asks me for a mobile number. I give it my properly formatted UK mobile.
I get an error message from them.
Duh.
It’s simply not good enough for an internationally recognised service like Facebook to be limited to using a US text messaging gateway. Get real. Get with it. Phone up a UK aggregator, get an account, get it fixed. Or better still, call up Clickatell, tell them you saw their ad on SMS Text News and are looking for a reeeeelly good deal — and get connectivity for the rest of the world.
Shite, isn’t it? A billion dollar company like that and their developers can’t be arsed to sort out an international gateway.

Jeb, very good of you to offer — I am just miffed at them for not supporting international numbers! It’s not as if it’s particularly complex!
Posted by ewan on April 30th, 2007 at 7:55 pm.Why should Facebook do this for the brits? What have they dont to advance Facebook? Facebook should be exclusively for Americans. haha I am only kidding.
Have you considered messaging their support?
