Is that a Nokia N95 in your pocket?

Image622An N95 in my pocket? No, actually. Not yet, anyway. I popped along to the T-Mobile store in Clydebank this morning — if you recall, I’m boycotting the early-closer one in Paisley.

The staff at this shop were very helpful. Within 45 seconds of entering, they had established that I was due an upgrade, got the T-Mobile upgrade team on the phone and sorted it out.

The chap in the store said, with some dismay, ‘There will be a £40 charge.’

I nodded. He looked a little surprised that I took the news lightly.

‘It’s a 600 quid phone, I understand,’ I explained.

I think he was expecting a shocked and outraged reaction.

I didn’t really mind.

Unfortunately I had negated to bring any form of ID with me. I only had cash in my pocket. Despite me being able to give the account password, full address, details of my current price plan, the whole shebang, I couldn’t actually walk out of the shop with the phone.

Instead, they’re sending it to me. Wednesday morning.

Interesting.
