I was sending some screenshots to my laptop here on the train and saw this rather rude device ID.

Do you reckon I should send the device a bluetooth message saying ‘I miss you too?’

Or change my device ID to ‘Yeah, me too’ and see if anyone notices? ;-)

  • It’s the mobile dork in me, but I find it more interesting that there’s a BT device named “E90″ shown as a mobile phone.

  • Ah yes, that’s ultra geeky of you Carlo! ULTRA!

But I think I can out-geek-you in this situation. The E90 is actually the device ID of my E61…… ;-) Full details here.

  • My next door neighbours phone appears to be called ’sexual predator’.. notice it on the odd occasion when I do a BT scan on my PC in the study. Very bizarre..

  • Dangit, I’m late in commenting. That was the first thing I noticed, as well, was the E90 in there. Then I thought perhaps there was something Ewan wasn’t telling us, that he’d somehow fanangled himself an E90.

Haha, I’m going to change my N73’s BT ID to something like that now, too. Maybe “Vertu” or something.

  • My N73 used to be ‘N95′.

Now that everyone and his brother seems to be getting one - Hmmm…

    Maybe rename it again?

    How about ‘N99′ ?

    ;)

…or go back to my own personal favourite: ‘Send me stuff!’

  • Slightly off-topic, but I was into ‘bluejacking’ a few years back. In my old local - quite a small pub - with a mate. Fired up the bluejacking app, put ‘mines a pint please’ in the text to send, and off we went.

Rather scary looking bloke a few tables away, his phone beeped. My mate started laughing. Scary bloked looked over towards us, and said ‘was that you? WTF should I buy you a pint? You asking for trouble?’

I never bluejacked again. Dangerous occupation..

  • There is a new web site all about bluejacking and a free app for your mobile , some of you may have heard of easy-jack ,this one has auto send so fire it up type in your message and hit send, stick your phone in your pocket and let it roll it will automatically send to everyone in the area without you having to look at your phone , shows you a list of ticks and bt names if they were succesfull , also uploads them to the web so you can see them later. Good Craic
