Check out Zonetag: http://zonetag.research.yahoo.com/
This is ShoZu on GeoTag steriods.
And how does it work? It uses TagMaps: http://tagmaps.research.yahoo.com/ to deliver the suggestions for tags.
Have a little think about the possible applications you could create, using the collected tag intelligence of TagMaps. My brain hurts even trying to begin. Jaiku is simply a creation platform, the really useful stuff is yet to be dreamt up.
UGC in the form of tags & presence is the huge 2.0 wave coming. Tags are lonng-term, Jaiku is Picoblogging ultra-short term, a combination will capture a massive amount of info in real-time, geo-referenced and searchable.
(FWIW, It’s me with the most exciting job in mobile, trying to work out how to get all this frottage to play nicely
