This is one of Ewan’s favourite apps, so when they emailed about a survey I thought it’d be worth a post.
If you haven’t used Mobilcast before, they’ve put together a nice demo video here. However if you do use the app, give them a couple of minutes of your time and fill our their short 10-question survey.

I have tried it and the audio quality (bitrate I presume) off the BBC podcasts they arey offer are terrible.
I use audiobay that grabs podcasts direct from the BBC, at their original bitrate. Yes its more data, but thats why I’m on X-Series!

I also tried the BBC feeds and wasn’t happy with the audio quality. Not sure if this is a BBC issue or Mobilecast issue. Spodtronic is my favourite podcasting client at the moment.

Please try our new 5.0 Mobilcast HiFi client which sounds great as more of the newer phones now support AAC+ and our playback is at 24K. Get it at http://www.mobilcast.com.
You are all correct that our older 4.0 Mobilcast client had low audio quality as we had to use AMR at 12K and that created a hollow sound to the audio playback. Many of the mass market phones over the past year only supported AMR.

Rob Greenlee is a timewaster.
His link only works for US mobile subscribers.
My 3 Xseries Nokia E65 has tried to download the Mobilcast 5.0 version 6 or 7 times.
It never installs properly.
I’m off to find a mobile podcasting service that works
