SMS Text News has connected 600,000 pounds of investment
A reader was asking me about this the other day and suggested I should blog it, so here it is.
It’s a rough statistic and very much back-of-the-cigarette-packet in terms of accuracy because I haven’t been privy to the exact deal terms, but I’m reasonably content to ‘reckon’ that we’ve accounted for about 600k’s worth of investment in mobile related companies in the last 6-8 months.
Most of that investment, well, actually, all of it that I’m aware of has been from angel style investors and it’s all gone into startups of various kinds. The exciting element for me is that SMS Text News brought the parties together. Having been at the coalface raising money many times (and generally only coming across absolute know-nothing arses most of the time), it’s a brilliant feeling being able to pass on contact details, knowing that an entrepreneur somewhere is about to get a verrrrrry cool phone call that I know is going to change his/her life that day (whether or not a deal transpires).
