They were recently purchased by Buongiorno Vitaminc - http://tinyurl.com/33uw6w
Posted by Rachel Pasqua on June 27th, 2007 at 9:13 pm.Wow I completely blanked that one..
Posted by Ewan on June 27th, 2007 at 9:27 pm.Actually, that’s not *quite* the case. The agency side of their business, without the name Flytxt, was bought by Buongiorno Vitaminic (for that read the mobile marketing campaign stuff they do for brands and agencies) and Carsten went with that side of the business to head it up I believe.
However, Flytxt direct (I think that’s what it’s called), the mobile marketing platform, and the name Flytxt remains. Flytxt direct clients include network operators and the likes of EMI. So although they may be quiet on the PR front, they’re still very much alive, just in a different format.
Posted by technokitten on June 29th, 2007 at 4:10 pm.Flytxt’s platform is in fact called Neon not Flytxt Direct and is very much live and kicking.
Posted by technokitten on July 4th, 2007 at 1:55 pm.Flytxt Neon was spun out of the legal entity “Flytxt”, leaving the original shareholders holding worthless pieces of paper. This was an act of desperation to keep the product alive without having the burden of creating a return for the original investors.
They have ’some’ money from a new round of investment, but things don’t look pretty.
The development of the product has been shoved off-shore and the future looks bleak. I doubt they’ll be with us in a year or so.
