Zut Alors! Blackberries threaten French national security

Blackberries branded a threat to French national security

Saw this on IT news site The Inquirer, and thought I’d share it (and even corrected their atrocious spelling in the quote below)..

As British Government Ministers move to allow handheld gadgetry into the Commons, their French counterparts face a ban on BlackBerries for reasons of national security.

The fact that the Crackberries send and receive data through servers in the UK and the US is one reason for the ban, an advisor to the French Prime Minister said.

By the way if you missed the news today that the UK Government are considering allowing the use of PDAs and laptops in Parliament, The Register has covered it here. How long will it be before we hear the Nokia ringtone during Prime Ministers Question Time?
