This looks to me like a straight like-for-like (more or less) match to the highly successful ‘unlimited texts for £35/month’ Orange price plan.

I’ve been a huge fan of it since they brought it out as it makes total sense for a huge subset of customers — and I never tire of suggesting it to people I meet — usually to a look of amazement from them, ‘Really? Unlimited? Oooh’.

I see, however, that Vodafone’s deal is the usual nailing of the word ‘unlimited’.

Unlimited means 3,000 texts, it seems.

It’s such a shame when they arse around with this. Playing with the word ‘unlimited’ is perfectly fine if you add a fair-use-policy on the end. I get that.

What ‘unlimited’ should mean is ‘don’t take the piss’.

It’s really, really disappointing when you click and find out that you were drawn into the web by … well… lies.

Just make it unlimited.

Don’t tell consumers that it’s ‘unlimited’ … when, when you CLICK, explains that it’s NOT… and that it’s only 3,000 texts.

It’s still a good deal from Vodafone though.
