Query Wikipedia via text message

Picture 92Link: Micro Persuasion: Search Wikipedia and RSS News Feeds via SMS

GoLiveMobile has set up a way to query Wikipedia via text messages using their Text2WAP technology. All you need to do is send a text message to the number 23907 with the word ABOUT followed by your search topic – e.g. ABOUT WIKIPEDIA. You will then get a link back to a special mobile-friendly version of the Wikipeida entry.

Alas this looks like a US-only service but, all the same, I like the concept. I would quite happily send a text message to get back the link rather than arse about opening browsers and entering web addresses.

I had a look on the GoLiveMobile site but didn’t see anything about this.

(But if you’ve got Opera on your handset, you can automatically query Wikipedia from it’s search facility).
