I used ROK Talk 6 times in one hour last night
There’s been a lot moving last night with one of my companies. I found myself making call after call before I stopped and recognised that a conference call would be far more efficient — and quicker.
I flipped on ROK Talk and called my colleagues. Within moments we were all talking. When I select someone from my address book, e.g. Graham Smith, I select what number I want to use (ROK Talk lets you scroll through their mobile, their landline and so on) and once I’m content, I hit the ’start conference’ option. The smarties at ROK Talk noticed that they can get their system to pass not only the phone number but also the name of the attendee to the ROK Talk conference dialer… meaning that ROK Talk actually announces people automatically. It does so in an automated computer voice but that’s perfectly sufficient.
One possible issue I’ve been thinking about: What if I named Graham, ‘GrahamTheArse’ in my address book? Theoretically speaking, ROK Talk would announce him as ‘Graham-the-Arse’. Heh.
Anyway I saved my the list of attendees as a ROK Talk group. Genius. When I had to get everyone on the call again, 10 minutes later, I just selected the group name and hit ’start’. Fantastic.
There was a slight problem though: ‘The next time you call me, can you call my other mobile?’ asked my colleague (he was on the train and his main phone battery was going).
‘Sure thing,’ I said. No hassle AT ALL. I just typed his other mobile number into the ROK Talk system. No biggie, no hassle, no concern.
If you haven’t downloaded ROK Talk, you’re absolutely 100% missing out, big time. It’s free at the moment (they’re paying the call costs during beta) and it works more or less anywhere in the planet on Series 60 3rd Edition, so no excuses. Get it here.

I’ve applied for the beta - but still no response…
