Link: UK iPhone set for launch on Tuesday? | Technology | Guardian Unlimited
The iPhone rumour mill is speeding up again - this time about the date of the UK launch.
Apparently Apple are going to announce the details next week - but they won’t be confirming O2 have the UK gig until later.
Meanwhile, in other news, the iPhone unlocking steamroller is at full speed. Quite a few SMS Text News readers have mailed in confirming they’ve unlocked their handset. Personally I unlocked three yesterday - took about 30 minutes each including waiting around for the firmware reflashing.
The only downside so far I’ve had is not being able to use data services - which insist on EDGE. Wifi works fine, but proper mobile data would be good ![]()
