Almost bought an Nokia N95 8GB yesterday

Walking up Tottenham Court Road is a bad thing, especially during the day. I keep on being drawn by the unlocked handsets on display in the various windows.

I was surprised to see a Nokia N95 8GB in the window. I’m not sure why. I think, because it still very much has an ‘air of new’ about it.

I am slightly disillusioned with my N95 first edition now that I’ve seen the 8GB version. I’m less concerned about the extra space, it’s the upgraded interface. The menu animations actually work nicely and smoothly rather than the occasional yet grossly annoying jitter scroll. The camera is extremely quick — like it should be — the screen is bigger and nicer.

Gahh. I should get one…

Maybe tomorrow…

  • Ewan,

You should purchase one just so you can bring it to Israel!

  • Reckon I’m gonna hold out for the N82. Just what I’ve been waiting for!

  • I won a Nokia N95 on Thursday. Don’t have it yet, and I don’t know if it’s going to be the 8 GB model. Looking forward to playing with it though…

  • Hey, I had a N95 but have bought an 8Gb about two weeks ago and I love it mostly because of the speed. Only one issue, however for those using the GPS; the Tracking feature is no longer present, hence navigation is now only possible as a premium/paid service. Annoying!
