Oh my god. Someone here has caught on.
With the iPhone expected to land in the lap of a key rival, Bell Canada Inc. is hoping to make its own splash by offering a competing touch-screen device with what appears to be the country’s first unlimited wireless data plan.
Bell is hoping to boost sales of its new HTC Touch smartphone this Christmas by offering voice subscribers the option of purchasing a $7 optional plan that adds unlimited access to email and the Internet.
Novel concept eh? 🙂
This is ABOUT TIME!
Tell me about it, I’m almost tempted to switch to Bell now
DAMN i was with Bell … and switch to Rogers cause i got the iPhone !!! i hope Rogers will get it and give us a plan that Canadian deserve, if they do so … i bet ya thats the iphone will be soon in the Maple Capital!… maybe Bell did the right move to get the iphone sold in Canada !!! and me getting a unlimited plan dor Data on my iphone 😀
Too bad Bell isn’t GSM :/
I used to work for Rogers. I don’t anymore. Don’t get your hopes up for Rogers and the iPhone. Rogers is PRO-Microsoft. Do your own research. Find out if they use any Apple products anywhere in their organization. Someone has a scam going on with Apple right now and they will be waiting as long as they can in order to hold back Apple from coming into Canada.
cant be true… must be some sort of catch. haha.
Actually, Bell had offered an unlimited data plan for $50/month about 7 years ago. I signed up of it back then, and had it up until March, when I switched to Rogers. Just like per second billing, and first minute free…the cell phone companies have constantly discontinued plans, erroding the value that consumers get from their cell phone plans and constantly increasing the cost of their services. Its nice to see that Bell is coming to their senses on data plans again. Now if only they could offer me a phone that worked in the rest of the world, I might actually switch back to them.
Iphone will be dropping in Canada on Rogers within 60 days. Source is a higher up at Rogers Wireless that was (low and behold) using a new iphone as I spoke with him. He would not give me a confirmed date as per the confidentiality agreement he signed but did let it slip that Rogers would indeed have the launch of the Iphone in Canada before the end of March. Take that Bell.
