I’ve been following this one all weekend. Fascinating.
T-Mobile USA has, it appears, deliberately switched off Twitter. I’ve been holding off posting anything — I fully expected some sort of explanation and resolution shortly. Not yet, it seems…

Hey folks. T-Mobile has definitely turned us off without notification. At Twitter we make great effort to be in compliance with all the carrier “playbooks.” We’re still trying to find out why T-Mobile has taken this action—as soon as we find out, we’ll let you know.
I wonder how this will play out. Perhaps T-Mobile will fold as a result of user outrage?
Or will T-Mobile USA users simply stop Twittering? Are their actions enough to prompt users to switch providers? Unlikely based on the early termination fees and huge monthly contracts.
Some blog posts are indicating service online (see the Twitter blog)… others reckon there’s still a problem.
Perhaps it was just a glitch in the first place, eh? All a bad dream..

I pay T-Mobile dearly for an “Unlimited” data plan - I’m sure that I could find a good lawyer who would love to point out that blocking Twitter is certainly imposing “limits” on my data plan - ahhh, then let the legal system have a field day with that - Can you say “Class Action Lawsuit”? Ahh, I knew that you could! ;^)
