Wireless Giant launches Blackberry-only store

Wireless Giant, a US-based 60-store mobile retailer, has launched the world’s first (authorised) multi-carrier BlackBerry store. I can see this sort of thing being extremely popular with a certain segment of the mobile phone buying market. There is NOTHING worse than going into a store to get your new Blackberry kitted out, only to find they only stock 2 Blackberry models… and they’ve only got the non-qwerty keyboard version on a totally different operator than the one you want. Arse. I like the idea of doing things properly. If you’re into Blackberry, I suspect that Wireless Giant’s dedicated store will be like the adult equivalent of the sweet shop.

“Wireless Giant® is pleased to announce it is opening the world’s first authorized multi-carrier BlackBerry® retail store today in Farmington Hills, Michigan,” said Isaac Hanna, CEO of Wireless Giant. “The store features the most comprehensive offering of BlackBerry products and services and provides an exceptional purchasing experience for both consumers and corporate customers.”

At a VIP Grand Opening event, which will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, industry and community leaders will gather to celebrate the opening and gain hands-on experience with the latest BlackBerry products and services from Research In Motion (RIM).

The BlackBerry® Store from Wireless Giant is a multi-carrier store where BlackBerry smartphones from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless can be purchased and activated for use with BlackBerry® Internet Service and BlackBerry® Enterprise Server. The store also offers training services for both end users and IT administrators from companies and organizations of all sizes. Customers will also find a range of add-on software applications and personal accessories for their BlackBerry smartphone.
