Alltel Offers Over The Air Music Sync

Alltel Wireless logo
You remember Alltel, right? Just recently they updated their My Circle plans to offer more options to customers. Well, they’re at it again, this time in the realm of mobile music. By partnering with mSpot, Alltel will offer over the air syncing of customers’ music libraries to the popular Motorola ROKR Z6m handset.

The service will cost $3.99 per month, or $9.99 for a three-month run, and allows users to stream their music from their home computer to the device, as well as save music to the phone’s memory card. There is an application that gets installed on the user’s home computer, and a mobile mSpot Remix application on the phone. When the user selects a song, the software immediately begins streaming that song, while downloading the next (and the rest of the playlist) in the background.

Currently this is only available for the Motorola Z6m, though more handsets are planned later in the year. Not a bad option for $4 a month, really.
