Don’t tell anyone you saw this – N95 8GB

Image

As much as I go on about Nokia lack of end-consumer innovation with their handsets, I am still very much a fan. Especially of the N95. So much so, I’ve been scouring ebay and the web looking for an N95 8GB to buy.

It gets expensive, this SMSTextNews’ing. I just bought a Helio handset yesterday (400 dollars up front), 65 dollars a month, another sodding 175 dollars when I terminate it next month… I didn’t need it. But then standing in the Helio store looking at the plastic models was hardly a useful exercise. If you want to understand the devices and the services, you really need to use one. I heard nothing from Rick, the Helio PR chap that I emailed last week, so I just bought one. But what an arse. That could have been a nice new (or used, actually) N95 8GB.

I haven’t bought a new N95. Not yet… I’m just actively looking. I am ‘up for it’. That is to say, if a Nokia guy collared me on the street bearing N95 8GBs and offering me a very special offer, I’d do the deal.

Dude. Which one you gonna get? NAM version or UK version?

Yeah I want one too … but device-addicted as I am, I just cannot afford the price. Sheesh I could get a half-decent laptop for that price!

I believe that in the state of California a mobile phone provider must accept a phone and termination of service within 30 days of starting the service and buying the device, minus any minutes/data used. Hence, you may want to take that into consideration. I’m not saying buy a phone just to use it for a month and then return it but you may.
