Momail moves forward with $5.4m funding

Image

Momail‘s moving on quickly after it’s November launch with a big round from Bonnier Invest. If you haven’t checked out Momail, you should, soon. It’s smart, the way they’ve deployed it. I really like it — you’ll have your email account working on your mobile in seconds.

Swedish-based mobile email provider, Momail, has secured USD5.4m in Series A funding from the Swedish Sixth Pension Fund, Bonnier Invest and various angels from Sweden, England, Russia and South Africa. The funds will be used to expand into new markets and to enhance Momail’s product development. The aim of this is to further develop its service for sending email, pictures, documents and other digital content. The mobile email service, which launched in the UK in Nov and is currently available in Germany and all Nordic countries, will start rolling out in other countries later this year, beginning with Poland.

  1. I’d certainly echo Ewan’s comments. I’ve been using Momail since they launched in the UK by forwarding a copy of my emails to my Momail account which is picked up via my Nokia E65. Works really well for keeping an eye on emails while out. Using a flat rate data tariff means that it doesn’t cost me anything.
