We’ve got quite a lot of interviews with key players from here in the USA and a few from Europe coming. I’m just working on them. It took me a while to realise that it is far more effective to record the conversation then get someone to transcribe the audio, rather than spend the whole phone/physical interview writing notes like a total plonker. I can type faster than I can write — and I don’t do shorthand — so I was spending the whole interview buried in paper. Case in point: Colly from AQA, the original chap who wrote the Symbian OS. I filled a whole notebook talking to him and I’m still in the middle of writing it up.

Now I’m doing audio recorded interviews, I’m flying — thanks in part to Jessica who is doing an excellent job transcribing the interviews (and taking out the continual ‘right’ and ‘yes?’ prompts that I seem to unconsciously make).
