Paramount Sees Mobile As Vital, Creates New Unit
Paramount Pictures so strongly sees an opportunity in mobile video that on Monday they are poised to announce a new Paramount Mobile Entertainment business unit. The group will be headed up by Sandi Isaacs, Senior VP of Mobile and Interactive, and will be split into regional groups headed up by several top-notch professionals:
– Madeline Herdrich, previously of AT&T Mobility, VP-mobile, North America
– Pradeep Mittur, formerly of Disney, VP-mobile, Asia Pacific
– Giovanni Maruca, who worked at Sony Pictures before joining Paramount, director of mobile for EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa)
Paramount claims they’ve been working on partnerships with the big operators around the world as well as content creators to make sure there’s plenty of content being pulled from their vast library. The company currently offers movie-related ringtones and wallpapers on their website, but hopefully they’ll get a little deeper than that soon.
