  • If you’ve signed up for Vodafone.net you can get a (very primitive) form of Visual Voicemail. You can use your phone’s browser to see who has called you and selectively listen or delete your messages. You can even download them as .mp3 through your regular web browser.

It’s not as good as SpinVox - and it’s not as integrated as visual voicemail - but it’s free!

  • Bloody Vodafone!

They’re completely crap and then they pull a little gesture towards sensible human interaction out of the bag and I feel bad for slagging them off.
    Well, almost…

I think you missed off “expensive”, “intractable” and “slavishly avoiding bad publicity from prominent bloggers”?

  • Sorry Ewan, I’m not a huge fan of SpinVox. I love the technology but hate the costs. Let me explain, not only was I charged a fiver a month for the service, I found out 2 months in that my voicemail was a LIverpool number (0115 or something) that I was being extravagantly billed for. Voicemail redirect change from the TMobsters. I think I racked up extras on my bill for £25 just for SpinVox. Is that value for money?

  • @Nasser Ahmed,

Not entirely sure how you ended up paying so much for two months worth of SpinVox Voicemail.
If you like you can drop me an email at james dot whatley at spinvox dot com and I’ll look into it for you.

    Let me know,

    J.

  • @Nasser: That seems strange. My Spinvox re-directs are taken from inclusive minutes and I hardly notice it on the bill.

  • For me, yeah, Nasser, it is worth it. I too am charged a substantial amount of money for every redirection on Spinvox (on T-Mobile). Really annoying … but only when the bill arrives. I thoroughly enjoy and value the actual service. My voicemail is still stuffed full — I’ve only just got it enabled on my Vodafone number, … I’m not sure what they charge for Spinvox redirection.
