Nokia inks megadeal in China

Nokia has pulled off another seriously large deal in China. The company announced late last week that it had signed an agreement with China Postel to sell $2 billion-worth of devices during 2008.

The two will also get closer by strengthening strategic ties, especially with regard to channel development, resource investment, and marketing management. The two companies have been working together since 1998.

It looks like Nokia won’t be losing its number one position in the handset making league any time soon: China Postel is the country’s largest mobile phone distributor with around 30 percent market share. It’s good news for Nokia that China Postel still has a healthy appetite for Nokia devices.
