Nimbuzz: Switched on and already rocking

Hundreds of thousands of folk are already Nimbuzzing. I can’t say any more than that at the moment as the meeting today with co-founder Tariq was pre-briefing about their upcoming launch.

Suffice to say that the Skype Mobile chaps really, really should have been looking over their shoulders and run a lot faster.

I’ve been using Nimbuzz for a little while now and it’s most definitely my communications application of choice — both from a VOIP perspective and from an instant messaging viewpoint.

Do take a bit of time and check it out — I suspect their formal launch is going to upset quite a lot of the status quo across a few industries, especially as quite a few mobile operators are snapping at them already.

  • Ewan,
How do they compare to Fring?
  • agreed, i need something that simply works and fring seems to take over my mobile phone and eat it.

I discovered Nimbuzz three days ago and it seem like what I have been waiting for. I was put off by Fring's ugly user interface and connection difficulties with hidden WLANs.

Now I cannot decide between the Java or the S60 client. What's your take on this?
