Who are the best aggregators in Canada?

I’m trying to remember who we worked with back, years ago, when we wanted to do text to screen in nightclubs. Can’t for the life of me remember the company names. All I remember was a Rogers executive who didn’t understand why anyone would want to text an arbitrary message to a screen in an nightclub.

Any suggestions on Canadian aggregators?

  • Well Well...The good ole days of trying to convince someone why we would want to "Text the screen" - that was before Twitter and microblogging wasn't it... Imagine a Twitter to screen now...

Anyways, our journey into aggregation in Canada started with Zim Corporation based in Ottawa. They loaned us a Long Code to play with and some free bandwith to use. However when the carriers cut off access to the long codes, we had to move to the notorious short code - 82444.

If you recall at that point, we were introduced to our friends over at Mythum (mythum.com) who helped us with the short code and all of our aggregation requirements. It was Michael, Dean and Wayne who helped us out at Mythum.

To this day, I still recommend Mythum to anyone who contacts me for SMS / aggregation requirements and have not had a negative experience yet.

That was a nice trip down memory lane.....
  • Here is a link to all direct and indirect aggregators in Canada:
    http://www.txt.ca/list_aggregators.htm

I've worked with many of them - but depending on your need or volume, the fact that they are direct or indirect may not matter.

Also note that some mobile agencies will have multiple aggregators setup on their inhouse mobile platform.
  • I work for MyThum in Toronto, I'd be willing to pass your details on to our aggregation team.
  • Please do Olafdunn -- it's Krystal@smstextnews.com who's working on this!

Can someone tell me what the pricing scheme may loko like? Is it standard across all networks i.e. Rogers, Fido etc?
    Much appreciate any feedback!
    Thanks!
