We didn’t nominate o2’s Bluebook mobile address book backup service in our recent awards for a number of reasons. All discussed in this week’s 6th (and bonus) episode of the MIR Show:

It’s time for the Mobile Industry Review 2008 Awards (formerly known as the SMS Text News Awards — before we changed our name).
It took us a long time. Months, in fact. Regular meetings, arguments, distractions, testing, pondering… but it’s here.
Yesterday the MIR Show team headed down to a swanky hotel in London to film [...]
We’re recording the Mobile Industry Review Awards — both the nominations and the winners — tonight.
I’ve just overseen the creation of our fancy envelopes with the results inside.
SHHHH. Can’t tell you who’s won.
Dan Lane, Ben Smith and James Whatley will be presenting alternate categories, listing out the nominations — and then ripping open the [...]

The company has opened up the entries for the competition beginning today and will continue till November 30, 2008 and is open for all mobile developers [...]
Besides nominations for the Mobile Industry Review 2008 Awards, the other thing I’ve been looking at are trophies.
There’s a world of choice out there, especially if you’d like a cricket ball in a grasping hand, or a football (”soccer”) boot in motion. Or a medal.
I did for a moment drift off [...]
I’ve been going through the nominations for the Mobile Industry Review Awards. There’s a ton. An absolute ton.
The casting vote on nomination is with me. I am, for example, weeding out the dross. For example, whilst I respect and appreciate one reader’s nomination of a screwdriver as the best [...]

* Announce the nomination shortlist for each category
* Announce the [...]

The chaps at Computer Weekly have kindly included us in their blog awards.
If you’ve got two minutes, nominate us — and our colleague Steve’s site too (The Hot Aisle). It’s a piece of simplicity. You’ll find us under Mobile Blogs and The Hot Aisle under CIO blogs.
There’s just a matter of hours left before the entries close for the SMS Text News Awards close.
In a little under four hours the email address will be switched off and a small handful of dedicated people will examine each of the hundreds of entries to determine who has it and who, (in the case [...]
Hello!
‘Tis I. Ewan. Your friendly mobile blogger from SMS Text News.
Ah hah!
You’ll have noticed that we’ve posted quite regularly about the upcoming SMS Text News Awards.
We’ve had hundreds of entries so far so thank you very much indeed to all who have taken the time to do so.
1. Entry. You need to [...]
Just a polite reminder. The deadline is looming for submissions to the SMS Text Awards. We’ve had hundreds of entries for the 20 categories and the deadline in next week- the 25th July.
Somehow I have a foreboding feeling a handful of us will be going blind with reading over the next couple of [...]
We’ve had more than 300 entries for the SMS Text News Awards ‘08 already. It’s pretty shocking, and I wasn’t quite aware I was letting myself in for so much reading, but we’re now electing a board of judges…
It’s a fantastic response and I don’t think we’ve seen the end of the entries by any [...]
